Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minn. mourns loss of Bob Barker

SANDSTONE, Minn. – Officials at the Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minnesota are deeply saddened by the loss of longtime “The Price is Right” TV game show host Bob Barker.

Executive director Tammy Thies says Barker had a huge impact on their big cat rescue. She says he contributed almost $400,000 for a small nonprofit like the Sanctuary that helps build habitats for cats, and heated temperature-controlled buildings that are needed in Minnesota. Most recently he helped fund their hospital.

Thies says she never got to meet Barker but works closely with his foundation. Barker always closed the show by saying, “Have your pets spayed or neutered. Goodbye, everybody!”

Barker died over the weekend at age 99
